Jeff attended WVU where he met his wife, Deb.
They moved to Wilmington in 1997. He enjoys coaching the
football team for one
of their two
son’s and is an avid WVU and Ohio State football
fan. He finds pleasure in giving back to this wonderful
community that he is proud to call home.

Originally from York, PA, Deb received her
undergraduate degree from WVU and attended law school at Penn
State. She was a founding member of the Carousel Center. She and Jeff have been married
for 23 years. She enjoys a variety of physical activities
including walking, biking & yoga. She believes that a solid
community takes everyone working together to make it the best it
can be. Those who can give back…should give back.

Steve is originally from Richmond, Va. He and Elizabeth love to
travel, especially overseas. Their hobbies include running,
travel, wine & cooking. Family favorites include the beach, the
theater or a concert. |

Elizabeth grew up in Annandale, Va. Married to Steve for 15
years, they have 2 children. She is currently busy with the
opening of her new business, Accents on Fun a children’s foreign
language immersion program. |

David grew up in Ohio and Charleston, SC. He and wife, Julie,
are runners and compete in marathons. David has written two
books on local history. He and Julie share a strong sense of
community and an appreciation for history. |

Julie grew up in Charlotte, NC. She and David have known each
other since age 4, when David’s dad was the rector at her
church. They have 2 little girls and enjoy camping, beachtime
and playing with their children. |

Dave moved to Wilmington in 1995 where he met his wife Kathy in
1997. They live in the Historic District with their two young
sons and enjoy traveling as a family. He flies his vintage
Cessna whenever he gets the chance. He believes Wilmington is a
terrific city with amazing people and its diverse character and
culture make it one of the best places to live. |

Crystal is a full-time wife and mother and dance instructor at A
leap Above Dance Center. She grew up in Leland and she and her
husband, Michael, have three children. She loves teaching dance,
reading novels and spending time at the beach. |

Andrea grew up in East Lansing, MI and is a die-hard MSU fan.
She has lived in Wilmington for 11 years. She and husband, Ed,
have three children. The family enjoys doing anything that
involves the water and are active members of First Presbyterian
Church. Andrea feels that it is important to become active in
the community to make it a better place for everyone |

Chris is a dance instructor at A Leap Above Dance Center and has
been teaching jazz, lyrical & hip hop dance for 12 years. He
travels around the U.S. on weekends working with a national
dance competition “Hall of Fame” and edits music for several
dance studios. Chris has won numerous choreography awards as
have the students that he teaches. He has also danced in several
music videos and movies. |

Originally from the Atlanta/Decatur, GA area, George moved to
Wilmington about 5 years ago to assume the director's position
with Historic Wilmington Foundation. He strongly believes in the roles
of non-profit organizations enhancing the quality of life in
communities and filling critical needs for our society. |

Angie grew up in Hot Springs, AR. She and George have been
married 20 years. As a Preservation Consultant, she and George
share a love of visiting historic sites, museums, short hikes
and reading.
Angie is a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church where she
cantors and sings in the Renaissance Choir during the 11:00 am
mass. |

Susi is the former Executive Director of Wilmington Downtown,
formerly DARE, where she was active in urban planning and the
revival of Downtown Wilmington. She is an avid reader and enjoys
being active in community events that benefit many non-profits
organizations. |

Gene Merritt has been a major leader in the revitalization
process in downtown Wilmington since 1977. In addition to being
one of the most active developers and historic preservationists
in Wilmington's urban area, he has served as co-founder and
Executive Director of Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (formerly DARE,
Inc.) and North Fourth Street Partnership, Inc. Mr. Merritt has
served on the board of directors of a number of local, state and
national downtown revitalization and historic preservation
organizations and has been the recipient of a number of awards
for his service to his professions |

Sheriff Edward J. McMahon is an 18 year veteran of the New
Hanover County Sheriff’s Office. "Ed", as he is known throughout
the Sheriff’s Dept., progressed through the ranks and was
promoted to Chief Deputy in 2007, and sworn in as Sheriff in
July, 2009. Ed and his wife Teena are the parents of two
children, Shaun – married to Sara, and Taryn – married to Josh.
The Sheriff and his wife are active in their church where he
serves as a Deacon, Youth Worker, and Sunday School teacher. |

Originally from Blacksburg, Va, Gretchen is an engineering
intern at Paramounte Engineering, Inc. and teaches dance at
Techniques In Motion School of Dance as both hobby and passion.
Married 7 years to husband, Brandon, she enjoys running, biking
and believes in giving back to her community. “It’s a great way
to get to know people from different situations and backgrounds
that would otherwise never meet.” |

Bob was appointed Publisher of the Star News in October 2005. He
is a member of the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce board
of directors and the Wilmington Rotary Club. He and his wife,
Heather, have been married 19 years. Heather is an active
community volunteer and is the current president of the Laney HS
band boosters. |

Katariina is a Dance Instructor with Dance Express and works for
Meridian Marketing & Logistics, Inc. She loves Latin dancing and
looks forward to world travel. She has a positive sense of
community and feels that helping others is essential and a
positive way to make a difference in someone’s life. |

Casey has only been in Wilmington for a year and has definitely
not lost her New Jersey charm or sense of humor. When she’s not
tracking down local news stories for WECT, she’s busy lifting
weights as well as the spirits of those around her. She’s is an
active participant in numerous community events. |

Kevin is the son of Donna Green and the late Lee-y Green. He is
a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts; an accomplished
dancer, choreographer and stage director. He operates TECHMOJA,
a small dance and theater company where he stages original works
as well as popular musicals. This year he produced DREAMGIRLS
and THE WIZ. Kevin is grateful to God, his parents and the
community for supporting all of his efforts. |

As St. Mary’s’ “Commander of Space & Time” Clifton oversees the
2 block campus that includes the school, church, convent,
rectory and Tileston complex. He is an integral part of the
success of the current Tileston restoration effort. Originally
from Louisiana, and a true Cajun, he enjoys spending beach time
with his 2 dogs, cooking Louisiana food, and Louisiana Music and
History. |

Liz teaches Kindergarten and liturgical dance at St. Mary
School. She dances Modern/Jazz with Tracy Varga and enjoys
performing in various community programs for fun. Originally
from New Jersey, she’s been married 23 years to husband Matt.
They have 3 children. |

Mary Lisa grew up in Spartanburg, SC and has lived in Wilmington
for 12 years. She and husband, Erik, have 8 year old twins,
Miles and Laura Kate. She has always been involved in community
service and hopes that her children will experience the same
rewards and learn from her example to give to others. She is
excited to be a part of this event to benefit Historic Tileston
School! |

Packer football. He and Mary Lisa enjoy spending time with
